Terms of Use

1. Agreement

This website is operated by Romeo & Juliet (“we”, “us”). By accessing or using it you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2. You must be of legal drinking age

This site promotes beverage alcohol and is intended only for people of legal drinking age in the province or territory where they live: 19 or older in Ontario. By entering you confirm that you are. We do not knowingly permit anyone under the legal drinking age to use the site.

3. No sales on this site

Nothing is sold through this website. Our products are available through the LCBO, and any purchase is made with the LCBO under its own terms. Prices, availability and product details are set by the LCBO and may change without notice.

4. Enjoy responsibly

Please drink responsibly and never drink and drive. Nothing on this site is health, nutritional or medical advice. If you are pregnant, taking medication or have a health condition, speak with a health professional before consuming alcohol.

5. Our content

All text, images, label artwork, bottle designs, logos and other material on this site belong to Romeo & Juliet or its licensors and are protected by Canadian and international copyright and trademark law. You may view the site for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, republish or use any of it commercially without our prior written permission.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site unlawfully, to interfere with its operation or security, to scrape or harvest its content by automated means, or to share any of its content with anyone under the legal drinking age.

7. Third-party links

The site links to third-party websites, including the LCBO. We do not control and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. Their own terms apply once you leave our site.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We try to keep it accurate but make no warranty that it is complete, current or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Romeo & Juliet is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited under Ontario law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2002.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Romeo & Juliet against claims and losses arising from your breach of these terms or your misuse of the site.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.

11. Changes

We may update these terms at any time by posting a new version here. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept it. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Romeo & Juliet is responsible for the personal information under its control. In short: this site does not ask you for personal information, and we do not sell it.

What we collect

Age confirmation. When you confirm your age, that answer is saved in your own browser’s local storage so you are not asked again. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.
Technical data. Like any website, our hosting provider automatically receives standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device and the pages you request. It is used only to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the site.
Information you send us. If you contact us, we use what you provide only to reply to you.

What we do not do

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, we do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We will not send you commercial electronic messages without your consent, as required by Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL). If we ever add analytics or other tools that collect personal information, we will update this policy first.

Where it is stored

Our hosting provider may process technical data on servers outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above and protect it with reasonable safeguards.

Minors

The site is not intended for anyone under the legal drinking age, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights

You may ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to its use, by contacting us at the contact details published in the footer of this site. We will respond within 30 days, or tell you within that time if we need longer and why, as PIPEDA requires. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (opens in a new tab).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time by posting a new version here. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.

ROMEO & JULIET, ROMEO, JULIET, the Romeo & Juliet wordmark, and the associated labels, bottle designs and trade dress are trademarks of Romeo & Juliet or its licensors, whether or not registered. They may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written permission, or in any way likely to cause confusion or to disparage the brand.

LCBO is a trademark of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario. It is used on this site only to identify where our products are sold and does not imply endorsement. All other trademarks belong to their respective owners.
